Joel G. Harpel, Senior Vice President and Director of Future Interment Master Trust, is responsible for the marketing and administration of The Philadelphia Trust Company’s Pre-need Deathcare Industry Program. His duties include monitoring on Pre-need Deathcare Industry matters before legislative and regulatory agencies within the Commonwealth of PA. Mr. Harpel is also active in various deathcare trade industry associations.

Mr. Harpel began his banking career in November of 1969 with the Union Bank and Trust Company of Eastern Pennsylvania. He joined First Valley Bank in December of 1974 as the head of Trust Operations. In August of 1982, he pioneered the master trust pre-need funeral program concept and created the Future Interment Master Trust. He serves on the Funeral Service Advisory Board at Northampton County College located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
